Modern Slavery Statement

Modern slavery is a heinous crime and a morally reprehensible act that deprives one person of their liberty and dignity for another person's gain. It affects millions of people around the world, including many in developed countries, who are being kept and exploited in various forms of slavery. We recognise that every company, no matter the industry, is at risk of being involved in modern slavery through its own operations and its supply chain. The economic uncertainty caused by the recent global pandemic and geopolitical events has potentially put more people at risk of being preyed upon by traffickers and this reinforces our desire to do everything we can do to eradicate the risk of modern slavery in our business and communities.

At Consulting20X, we have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are fully committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain. We are publishing this statement to demonstrate transparency to our employees, clients and the public. This statement sets out the actions that we have taken to map the risks of modern slavery within our supply chain, and to implement steps to prevent slavery on an ongoing basis.

Our business and supply chains

Our objective as a business is to drive fundamental change in approaches to product and service development, delivery and technology. With experts spanning the public sector, health, not for profit, education and the commercial sector, we're transforming the organisations, technology, and services people rely on.

We establish a relationship of trust and integrity with all our suppliers, which is built on mutually beneficial factors. We have not been made aware of any allegations of human trafficking/slavery activities against any of our suppliers, but if we were, we would act immediately to report the allegation to the authorities.

We have initiated direct contact with many of our high-spend suppliers to ask them direct questions about modern slavery. We are collecting data on whether they have published a modern slavery statement and whether they operate in any high-risk countries or industries as described by the Global Slavery Index. We will be looking to expand this questioning to a larger proportion of our supply chain in the coming year.

Risk assessment

We plan to carry out a risk assessment of the capacity of Consulting20X to manage and prevent the risks of modern slavery based on the UK Government’s Modern Slavery Assesment Tool (MSAT) framework.

As part of the assessment, we will map our supply chain by taking into account:

  • The risk profile of individual countries based on the Global Slavery Index

  • The business services rendered by the suppliers

  • The presence of vulnerable demographic groups

Policies

Consulting20X operates the following policies for identifying and preventing slavery and human trafficking in our operations:

  • Whistleblowing Policy - we encourage all employees, customers and suppliers to report any suspicion of slavery or human trafficking without fear of retaliation.

Awareness

Consulting20X has raised awareness of modern slavery issues by sharing this statement on their website;

Training

In addition to the awareness programme, Consulting20X has included a section on modern slavery in the onboarding materials for all of our new employees which covers;

  • the various forms of modern slavery in which people can be held and exploited

  • the size of the problem and the risk to our organisation

  • how employees can identify the signs of slavery and human trafficking, including unrealistically low prices for goods or services

  • how employees should respond and what action they should take if they suspect slavery or human trafficking

Measuring how we're performing

Consulting20X has defined two key performance indicators and controls to combat modern slavery and human trafficking in our organisation and supply chain. These are;

  • the number of employees who have completed mandatory training

  • the findings of the annual supply chain risk assessment

We aim to commence measuring these KPIs in near future.

This statement has been done in March 2023 and has been approved by the director of Consulting20X on 13th March 2023.
